What It Is and Why You Need It

Our Base Plugin is a required component for all products we offer. It contains the shared functionality and core logic that our other plugins rely on. Because of this, it must be installed before any of our other plugins can work correctly.

Why the Base Plugin Is Required

nopCommerce does not support automatic installation of dependent plugins. That means even though our plugins include everything they need, the platform still requires you to install each plugin manually. The Base Plugin ensures:

  • Consistent behavior across all our products

  • Shared features and services available to every plugin

  • Easier updates and long‑term maintainability

How the Base Plugin Is Delivered

You don’t need to download the Base Plugin separately. Every plugin you purchase already includes the Base Plugin inside its ZIP package. When you upload the ZIP file to nopCommerce:

  • The purchased plugin is uploaded

  • The Base Plugin is uploaded automatically alongside it

Installation Steps

After uploading the plugin ZIP file, you will see two plugins in your nopCommerce plugin list:

  1. The purchased plugin

  2. The Base Plugin

To complete the setup:

  • Click Install on the Base Plugin

  • Then click Install on the purchased plugin

Both plugins must be installed separately. Once installed, the Base Plugin will quietly run in the background and support all our products.

Important Notes

  • You only need to install the Base Plugin once.

  • If you install additional plugins from us later, they will automatically use the already‑installed Base Plugin.

  • If the Base Plugin is missing or not installed, other plugins may not function correctly.
